As a plumber, you will install, repair and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential, commercial, institutional or public buildings. You will get to cut, thread, assemble, weld, solder, and caulk water pipes and joints. You will read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems. As a plumber, you will design, install, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment, and controls. These piping systems may be used to transport water, gases, or hot liquids.
