Machining is defined as any operation that changes the shape, surface finish, or mechanical properties of a material by the application of special tools and equipment. The Machinist program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to set up and operate a variety of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines including lathes, turning centers, and machining centers.
