About

As an Electrician Apprentice, you will install and maintain electrical systems. You will place wiring in buildings and repair electronic controls on equipment. Some of your responsibilities will be reading blueprints and placing electrical conduits inside walls, partitions, ceilings, and other areas. You will feed insulated wire through conduits and install various kinds of electrical equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, outlets, and switches. The Electrical Apprenticeship program provides a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), its layout, the requirements for different electrical systems, and the components of those systems. This program discusses the risks involved with electricity and electrical systems as well as the safety equipment and measures that are in place to protect electricians and the general public alike.
