Laurel’s LPN/Paramedic to ADN Transition program is tailored for Licensed Practical Nurses and Paramedics seeking to advance their careers by becoming Registered Nurses. Program Overview:
The Nail Technician diploma program aims to equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities to secure entry-level employment in the nail care industry. Students in this program will receive comprehensive instruction in natural manicuring, pedicuring, nail design, and artistry, covering both traditional and contemporary techniques for nail enhancing and extensions. Upon completion, graduates can pursue positions as manicurists, pedicurists, or nail technicians.
Credential Awarded:
Uniontown, PA: Graduates earn a diploma and are eligible to take the Nail Technician license exam through the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology after completing a minimum of 200 hours of instruction and successfully finishing the program. Licensure is mandatory in Pennsylvania.
West Virginia: Graduates earn a diploma and can sit for the Manicurist exam after completing a minimum of 400 hours of instruction. Licensure is required in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Program Overview:
Cardiovascular Technology program aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level positions in the cardiovascular healthcare industry. Students will receive comprehensive training in non-invasive testing techniques such as EKG (ECG) and Cardiac Sonography/Echo procedures. These tests yield valuable data for cardiac evaluation. Graduates are prepared to perform diagnostic, administrative, and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician. Clinical responsibilities may include recording vital signs and medical histories, patient preparation for examination, blood drawing, and medication administration. The curriculum covers a range of subjects including Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Phlebotomy, Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, Medical Law & Ethics, Cardiac Sonography, Cardiovascular Technology, and Non-invasive Cardiology. Additionally, students undergo three clinical courses to practice hands-on skills essential for assisting physicians.
Credential Awarded:
Successful graduates receive an occupational Specialized Associate Degree.
Certifications Available:
The program prepares students to sit for the national certification examinations to become a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) and Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) RCS235 through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). Additionally, eligible graduates with one year of full-time work in cardiac ultrasound and evidence of performing 600 cardiac ultrasound studies may register for the RCS235 Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification exam through CCI.

Laurel’s HVAC Technician program provides a thorough education in designing, installing, and repairing heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems, including oil burners, hot-air furnaces, and heating stoves. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with hands-on learning to prepare students for real-world scenarios in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

With HVAC technician roles in demand, graduates are prepared for careers as HVAC technicians or maintenance and repair technicians, addressing the increasing need for qualified professionals in the HVAC industry.

The Cosmetology diploma program aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level positions in the cosmetology industry. This comprehensive program prepares students for roles in salons or spas by covering a diverse range of skills. The curriculum includes instruction in hair styling, shaping, coloring, manicuring, skin care, and chemical services. Students receive both theoretical knowledge and practical training under the guidance of licensed instructors. The program also offers supervised practice in the school’s full-service cosmetology clinic.
Credential Awarded:
For West Virginia students, you must complete 1,835 hours of instruction AND have successful completion of the Cosmetology program. Graduates must then must take and pass the licensure examination through the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists in order to practice in the state of West Virginia.
A potential student wanting to enroll in the WV Cosmetology program will not be permitted to enter any class for study or be given credit for any work done in the school prior to the time his or her permit has been received from the WV Board of Barbers and Cosmetologists. Some programs may require relocation, licensure, and/or certification for employment in some positions.

This comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of skills essential for hair styling professionals, including hair shaping, styling, coloring, braiding, wigs, hair additions, and chemical services. The program, taught by licensed instructors, emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application. Students gain hands-on experience through supervised practice in the school's full-service cosmetology clinic.
Credential Awarded:
Graduates earn a diploma and are eligible to sit for the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist exam after completing 1,000 hours of instruction and successfully finishing the Hair Styling program. Licensure is mandatory in West Virginia for practicing hair stylists.

The curriculum includes specialized facials, facial massage techniques, high-frequency treatments, professional makeup application, and hair removal methods. Graduates will be prepared to offer a range of services including skin analysis, facial treatments, and makeup application.

Upon completion, graduates receive a diploma and are eligible to sit for the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist exam. Licensure is mandatory in West Virginia for practicing estheticians.
