Program Overview:

The Hair Styling diploma program aims to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level positions in the hair styling industry. This comprehensive curriculum covers a wide range of skills essential for hair styling professionals, including hair shaping, styling, coloring, braiding, wigs, hair additions, and chemical services. The program, taught by licensed instructors, emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application. Students gain hands-on experience through supervised practice in the school's full-service cosmetology clinic.

Credential Awarded:

Graduates earn a diploma and are eligible to sit for the West Virginia State Board of Barbers and Cosmetologist exam after completing 1,000 hours of instruction and successfully finishing the Hair Styling program. Licensure is mandatory in West Virginia for practicing hair stylists.

Program Advisory Committee:

Laurel has established a Program Advisory Committee to ensure that the curriculum remains aligned with current job market trends and employer needs. Any program changes are made with the approval of the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges.
