The ADN-BSN 3+1 pathway program will provide you with the same outcome as our traditional concurrent program, but without the stress of taking classes from both Kirtland and SVSU at the same time. The ADN-BSN 3+1 program allows you to focus on your ADN and RN licensing classes, first, and then BSN course work from SVSU afterwards. All while not requiring additional years to complete!
Also, our ADN-BSN 3+1 pathway program ushers in a new line of instructors geared toward helping you succeed. Once enrolled in the pipeline, you will have access to success coaches and tutoring options designed specifically for ADN-BSN 3+1 students. You will Gain knowledge and complete courses while working towards your ADN, that will also be applied for your BSN—allowing you to complete all necessary coursework within four years.
The Correctional Officer Certificate prepares graduates for jobs in a correctional environment whether county jail or state run prison facility. This certificate incorporates corrections, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, and human relations required by the Michigan Department of Corrections for employment.
The Cyber Security program will prepare students to enter into the broad field of hardware and operating system security and troubleshooting; manage secure mobile, wired and wireless devices; managing client and server systems; networking security and operation security in the cyberspace. The program is designed as a tiered approach, building the foundation of knowledge for an entry level position in cybersecurity, computer networking, and information technology support. The program provides the opportunity for students to be best prepared to independently obtain the industry-wide and Department of Defense recognized vendor-neutral Comp TIA A+, Network+, and Security+ certifications. In addition, the program provides the opportunity to explore other aspects of cybersecurity to include computer programming, security software design, and network defense and counter measures. The requirement is a minimum of 60 credit hours.
The Associate in Applied Science in nursing program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as registered nurses. Following successful completion of the ADN program, graduates are eligible to take the license exam to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Each class of nursing students is considered a cohort (group) and courses/schedules are assigned. Graduates of the ADN program are qualified to enter the many BSN completion programs available.
The Associate in Business Administration degree is designed for students who plan to eventually complete a bachelor's degree in a business-related field. Some of the majors pursued by students following this program include Accounting, Advertising, Economics, Finance, General Business, Marketing, Personnel/Industrial Relations, and Public Administration. Students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university must consult with their advisor and carefully study the requirements of the four-year institution from which they intend to secure a bachelor's degree. Appropriate course substitutions may be made upon the recommendation of a student's advisor and with approval of the appropriate dean. Substitutions are only made in accordance with the specific requirements of the baccalaureate degree-granting institution to which the student intends to transfer.
The Medical Assistant program prepares students to perform a variety of administrative and clinical skills in ambulatory care settings. Kirtland's Medical Assistant program provides classroom, skills laboratory and internship instruction to prepare students to take the AMT RMA and RPT certification examinations upon successful course completion.
