Help your children prepare for school in a developmentally appropriate, play-based environment, learn how to model social-emotional skills, conflict resolution, and positive discipline, with the support and guidance of Credentialed Parenting Teachers.
We are here for you with Adult Basic and Secondary Education classes: English as a Second Language (ESL); Citizenship; preparation for a High School Equivalency (HSE/HiSET) test;, vocational programs or the work force. Students who cannot attend in person may register for online classes; access to a computer is required. For information about ESL, HiSET Prep, or Citizenship classes, please call 805-497-2761 extension 1101. In addition, we offer a one-to-one tutoring through our Literacy Center for qualifying students; for Literacy Center information, call 497-2761 extension 1102.
Phlebotomy Technicians work with compassion and care in laboratories, hospitals, physician offices, blood donor centers, and in mobile settings. Phlebotomists play a crucial role in quality specimen collection and processing, and talk with patients and donors to put them at ease.
The Phlebotomy certification program at Conejo Valley Adult School offers comprehensive training for aspiring phlebotomists, equipping students with the essential skills they need to succeed in the healthcare industry. Through a combination of engaging lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and practical clinical experiences, students will develop the necessary knowledge and competence to pass national certification exams. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared for a career in drawing blood and conducting medical tests to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
Our team is made up of local EMTs and Paramedics who share their wealth of knowledge with our students. Students will receive hands on skills, and field time with Ventura County AMR and Gold Coast Ambulance. The program is designed to meet the needs of local ambulance providers, emergency departments, a prerequisite for local college fire academies and paramedic programs.
Upon successful completion of course and final exam, students will receive EMT-1 Course Certificate of Completion and will then qualify to take the National Registry Exam which certifies students as EMT-1 in the State of California for a period of 2 years.

Caregiving jobs can be in assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, or private care.
Learn the skills necessary to work as a licensed Pharmacy Technician! Pharmacy Technicians work in retail stores, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities, contributing to the overall well-being of patients before, during, and after care. This class combines book work with hands-on training to prepare students for the optional national certification. A 120 hour externship is also available to eligible students.
