The Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) program is a 4-9 week course designed for individuals interested in starting a career in phlebotomy. Approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), this course trains students in both skin puncture and venipuncture blood collection techniques. It includes 40 hours of classroom instruction, along with a minimum of 40 hours of supervised clinical externship. Graduates meet the state’s eligibility requirements to sit for the national certification exam. Upon successfully completing the program and passing the exam, students receive a national Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPT I) certificate.
