QuikDraw Phlebotomy School
The Phlebotomy program prepares students for National certification enabling students to practice the Art of Phlebotomy in the USA, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. This is an entry level course that allows students entry level positions as a phlebotomist. The Goal of our Phlebotomy training is to expand knowledge and skills of prospective and currently employed healthcare professionals in the performance of blood withdrawal and to educate these professionals on the most recent trends in blood analysis and clinical laboratory medicine.
The Medical Assistant program prepares students to be multi-functional practitioners, thoroughly prepared to perform front office and clinical patient care duties, as well as basic urgent care procedures. Topics covered included are anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, insurance billing and coding, electronic health records, ethics, clinical procedures, aseptic technique, minor surgical procedures, universal precautions, general skills in document formatting, basic accounting, EKG, phlebotomy, and pathology. This program delivers practical preparation in the healthcare environment. Graduates of this program may find entry-level positions as an office/clinical medical assistant.
As of October 2022, CT state laws have changed for the better! Medical Assistants are now eligible to administer vaccines to patients. This is great news because this will allow for less patient wait times, advance clinical skills to medical staff, and increase the medical team’s patient productivity and satisfactory rates. CT State Law requires a 32 hour vaccine training that includes an 8 hour hands-on clinical lab for Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
