Program Description

The EKG course at our institution is designed to train individuals in performing electrocardiogram tests, covering basic 12-lead EKGs and fundamental arrhythmias. Through hands-on training, students become familiar with the function and proper use of EKG machines, 12-lead placement, and interpretation. The curriculum also introduces students to the Holter Monitor procedure, a portable recording device worn by patients to monitor heart activity. EKG technicians play a crucial role in studying and forwarding results to physicians for diagnosing heart ailments, including rhythm abnormalities and issues with pacemakers.

National Exam Preparation

The program thoroughly prepares students for the national exam conducted by the National Center for Competency Testing/Multi-skilled Medical Certifications Institute. Successful completion of the course and exam can lead to valuable certifications in the field.
