This program is designed to teach students the skills necessary for employment as a CMA in a medical facility, such as hospitals, clinics, or doctor’s offices. A qualified CMA is capable of performing a wide range of duties, thus assisting the physician in many ways. Clinical duties include: asepsis and infection control, taking patient histories and vital signs, performing CPR and First Aid, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, collecting specimens and administering and explaining medications, as directed by the physician. This is a 6 month program. Upon completion of the program, the student will be eligible for National Certification through the National Health Career Association (NHA).
