The NOCE Pharmacy Technician Program has been granted accreditation by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). Students who complete the program will learn to analyze and transcribe prescriber’s orders into a database, perform common medication calculations, conduct inventory and categorize classes of medication, understand a specific drug’s effect on the human body, communicate well on the phone or in-person with customers or medical staff, complete pharmacy insurance bills and resolve rejected claims, and participate in the drug distribution process including preparing incoming prescriptions and/or medication orders, performing prescription refills, and preparing sterile and non-sterile products.
This program welcomes ESL Program students with Intermediate High writing skills or above. 16 hours every week includes ten (10) hours of live online class meetings and six (6) hours of independent online course work in Canvas. A keyboarding speed of 15-20 WPM is recommended. Develop the communication and job training skills needed to get a job as a clerk typist, office assistant, or receptionist. In this 18-week Integrated Basic Skills & Education Training (I-BEST) Program, students will learn how to: Perform entry-level office and Administrative support tasks. Find and keep an entry-level office job, including preparing for a job interview. Communicate with customers, coworkers, and employers. Use Microsoft Office and the Internet. Think critically and solve problems in the workplace. Build your English and job skills at the same time! One group of students (30 maximum) will complete these courses together, with the same instructors, in one semester. Students must commit to the full 18 weeks for 16 hours each week. Only one absence per OA class is allowed.
Students who pass a combination of ESL Program classes qualify for state-approved certificates signed by the NOCE President and NOCCCD Chancellor. These certificates appear on a student’s official NOCE transcript. Certificates of Completion are available from the State of California for core and specialty ESL Program classes. These certificates are called Career Development and College Preparation (CDCP) and are designed to help students develop the skills to succeed in the workplace and higher education.
The NOCE GED/HiSET Program helps adults prepare for their high school equivalency (GED or HiSET) exams by providing academic support and convenient classes online. Effective 2022 Fall, CASAS assessment is required. NOCE supports students as they prepare to take the GED/HiSET exams. NOCE offers tutoring and classes at no cost to you! Take the next step with us!

Our Citizenship Preparation Program gets prospective candidates ready for the United States citizenship process. You will learn how to complete all required immigration forms and practice for the citizenship test by becoming familiar with United States (U.S.) history and understanding the rights and responsibilities of being a U.S. citizen.

The ESL Student Support Center allows you to participate in small group activities to improve your language skills and practice interacting with others. Each ESL Student Support Center are an encouraging and supportive atmosphere. Hours are flexible—spend as much time as you need when the ESL Student Support Center is open. We are here to help and are available online throughout the semester.
Our ESL Specialty classes provide extra support and practice with specific skills to develop language fluency. Whether you need help with computer skills or English pronunciation, the ESL Specialty classes are available to all students online and in-person. These classes are recommended to help students get the extra practice they need to advance in their ESL Program classes or in their personal life. For most topics, there are now separate classes available for students in the Beginning or Intermediate/Advanced levels.
The ESL Academic Success Program is designed for Intermediate-Advanced students who are interested in transitioning to college or vocational programs. The ESL Academic Success Program certificates are for students at higher levels who wish to transition to a Career Technical Education (CTE) Program or High School Diploma Program at NOCE, or to a college or university to continue their education. The ESL Academic Success classes focus on strengthening English skills for success in an academic setting.
NOCE’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate Program provides the beginning steps to prepare for your new career. If you enjoy being around children and helping little kids learn and grow, enroll today! The Early Childhood Education Program from North Orange Continuing Education offers four certificate options focusing on childcare, educational support, and the management of childcare programs in a variety of private facilities. The Entrepreneurship certificate is focused on building the skills needed to run a successful business. Students will be able to learn and understand how to identify a business opportunity, effectively use sales techniques and tips to maximize creativity and innovation and follow the business planning process.
The Quality Assurance Management for Medical Devices Program prepares students for an entry-level job within the medical device industry. This program provides detailed training on the standards and regulations of medical devices. If you are detailed-oriented, love to read and write, and are good at problem-solving, this career path is for you!
Prepare for a career in the electrical field with training at NOCE. Our Electrical Technology Certificate offers practical training to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems. The Electrical Technology Certificate Program prepares students for entry-level employment in numerous electrical and electrical-related trades. The program integrates electrical theory with a hands-on application where students receive practical training to develop the foundational skills necessary to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Please note that the Electrical Technology Certificate Program will not qualify students to work for a C-10 contractor and will not qualify students to sit for the state certification exam.
The Google IT Support Professional Certificate is designed to prepare students with the academic tools to provide service as an IT Support Professional. In the program, students are required to complete seven courses that prepare them with a solid IT support foundation. In this program, students will gain valuable professional skills in customer service, troubleshooting, network protocols, cloud computing, windows operating system, Linux command line, systems administration, encryption algorithms, and techniques. Students completing this program will meet the requirements of the OC Center of Excellence for Computer Network Support Specialist, Computer User Support Specialist, and Computer Systems Analyst.
This program is designed to prepare students for a career as an entry-level bookkeeper or provide the necessary knowledge of basic bookkeeping functions for business owners or entrepreneurs. Bookkeepers maintain their employers’ financial records by using accounting software and other tools. As they play such a significant role in determining their companies’ success, employers want only the most highly trained and ethical bookkeepers.

The Customer Relations Certificate from North Orange Continuing Education advances your training to include hands-on courses in customer service, information management, and using computers. The Office Assistant (Introduction & Advanced) certificates are designed, as a series of certificate options, to prepare students for entry-level office and administrative support job positions. Students who complete the program will learn to search the Internet, use Microsoft Office at a professional level, type a minimum of 35 net words per minute (NWPM) with five or fewer errors, perform administrative tasks such as trip planning, file management, and preparing payroll, create letters, memos, and reports with proper business formatting, and answer phone calls and take messages.

The Management Certificate Program will prepare students for first-line supervisory or management positions. Students will learn management principles and develop basic skills in decision-making, problem-solving, planning, organizing, speaking, and writing. The course sequence builds a knowledge base to enhance effectiveness on the job through topics such as leadership development, business law, finance, negotiations, marketing, and more.
NOCE’s tuition-free Human Resource Assistant certificate courses provide students with the opportunity to learn to assist with the daily administrative duties within the HR Department of an organization. Students will learn to assist in recruitment, record maintenance for the payroll process, and provide clerical support. Human Resource Assistants support HR activities, including posting job ads, creating processes and documents, liaising between HR and employees, and ensuring efficient communication between HR and employees.
