Upon completion of the Medical Assistant Program, students will have the ability and knowledge to work directly with patients and assist with their care. Our program will provide students with relevant skills and knowledge in assisting the physician with minor surgical procedures, performing patient assessments, and recording EKGs. Students will also receive training in general office procedures, such as, scheduling appointments, accounting procedures, and maintaining patient charts. After completing the didactic portion the program, students will attend an externship for a total of 80 hours. Students will be prepared to take the national certification examination for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Healthcare Association. Students may also qualify for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and the Certified EKG Technician (CET) examinations when they complete all requirements.
