Nurse Aide Advanced program certainly prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level Nurse Aide (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) in either a clinic or hospital or nursing home or long-term care (LTC) facility. As a result of this training, graduates will be able to check vital signs, and provide CPR and First Aid, assist in medical examinations, perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), phlebotomy and other basic laboratory procedures. Even more, this program is taught with a combination of lecture, practical exercises in the medical laboratory and with real-world experience during the externship portion of training conducted off-campus. Therefore you will also be eligible for and prepared to take the exams to become a Certified Nurse Assistant and Certified Patient Care Technician. Because of that, graduates are prepared for the following certifications by the National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
Patient Care Technician (PCT) program will most certainly prepare a graduate to work as an entry-level patient care technician (PCT) in a clinic, hospital, rehabilitation center, nursing home or long-term care (LTC) facility. As a result, graduates will be able to measure and record vital signs, perform CPR and First Aid, assist in medical examinations, perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), phlebotomy and other basic laboratory procedures. The course includes both theory and clinical training and therefore is designed to meet the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), NCCT, and New York State Education Department curriculum requirements. Phlebotomy program will prepare graduates to work as an entry-level Phlebotomy Technician in a clinic, hospital, nursing home or long-term care facility. Graduates will be able to assist in basic laboratory procedures, collecting blood and other clinical tasks. Phlebotomy technicians are healthcare professionals responsible for obtaining patient specimens. They can perform various functions such as venipuncture, micro-collection, and specimen processing and handling while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality. This course is designed to meet the National Health Career Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), and New York State Education Department curriculum requirements. The course will prepare graduates for NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Professional Certification. The course includes both theory and clinical training. The course curriculum is approved by New York State Education Department, by Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) and by National Health Career Association (NHA). This course is offered to participants as continuing education or professional development in order to enhance existing employment in the medical field and/or enhance their responsibilities at their current employer.
This Electrocardiography (EKG/ECG) program will prepare graduates to work as an entry-level EKG/ ECG Technician in a clinic, hospital, nursing home or long-term care facility. Graduates will be able to check vital signs, assist in performing electrocardiograms (ECG/EKGs). This course is designed to meet the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the National Health Career Association (NHA) and New York State Education Department curriculum requirements. The course will prepare graduates for NHA Professional Certification – Certified EKG Technician (CET). The course includes both theory and clinical training. The course curriculum is approved by the New York State Education Department, NCCT, and by National Health Career Association (NHA). The course provides an overview of basic cardiovascular terminology anatomy and physiology and focuses on proper placement of electrocardiogram leads and maintenance of equipment to obtain an accurate ECG. Students will learn to recognize cardiac arrhythmias. This course will outline responsibilities of EKG technicians and will provide clinical laboratory opportunity to develop entry- level skills. This course is offered to participants as continuing education or professional development in order to enhance existing employment in the medical field and/or enhance their responsibilities at their current employer.
Medical Assistant program provides training in both administrative and clinical procedures. This program is for entry-level professionals desiring to work in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, and other healthcare settings. Medical Assistants have always been critical employees in the health care system. The need for Medical Assistants has become more critical as the industry expands the use of technology and our population ages. This curriculum is approved by the NHA (National Healthcare Association), NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) and AMT (American Medical Technologists Certification Agency).
Clinical Medical Assistant program provides training in clinical procedures used by entry-level Medical Assistants working in hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, and other healthcare settings. Medical Assistants have always been critical employees in the healthcare system, but they are becoming even more important as the industry expands, technology advances, and the population ages. Clinical Medical Assistant program includes only clinical medical assistant skills. Consider our Medical Assistant program (900 hours) which includes both administrative and clinical skills.
Patient Care Specialist program prepares a graduate to work as an entry-level nurse aide, patient care technician, dialysis technician in a clinic, hospital, nursing home or long-term care facility. Graduates will be able to check vital signs, CPR and First Aid, assist in medical examinations, performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), basic laboratory procedures, phlebotomy and operate a dialysis machine. The Patient Care Specialist program is taught with a combination of lecture, practical exercises in the medical laboratory and with real-world experience during the 30 clinical hours externship portion of training conducted off-campus at a nursing home. In addition, this course will prepare a graduate for LPN Pre-Entrance exams (Basic Math & Science, Basic English Reading & Writing). You will also be eligible to take exams to become a CNA Certified Nurse Assistant, NHA Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT), NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), and NHA Certified EKG Technician (CET). The course curriculum is approved by New York State Education Department, by Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) and by National Health Career Association (NHA).

CNA (Nurse Aide Assistant) program will almost certainly prepare students for the New York State (NYS) Nursing Home Nurse Aide Competency (CNA) Examination in order to work as an entry-level nurse aide assistant on a healthcare team in various nursing homes/residential health care facilities and hospitals. This course prepares to to work as a Nurse Aide (CNA) and a Patient Care Technician (PCT). PCT training includes phlebotomy and EKG training. Graduates will be able to also receive a CPR certification. Students must be at least 18 years old and be able to pass a physical exam. If you don't have a high school diploma, you can take an entrance exam free of charge.
