About

Program Overview:

The Vocational Nursing Program aims to prepare graduate vocational nurses to enter the nursing profession as competent and self-directed practitioners. As members of the healthcare team, vocational nurses play vital roles in providing patient-centered care, advocating for patient safety, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. Under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians, vocational nurses provide nursing care to individual clients in structured healthcare settings. They primarily address common, well-defined health problems with predictable outcomes.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of all the program objectives and requirements set by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT), graduates will be awarded a diploma in Vocational Nursing and will become eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-VN).
