Accredited by the Missouri Department of Higher Education-This course is designed to introduce students to the healthcare field and the duties, attributes, and responsibilities of the medical assistant. Students will gain an understanding of healthcare practice, medical law and ethics, infection control, and administrative and clinical duties. Examples administrative duties learned include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Example clinical duties learned include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.  All students are eligible to take National Certifications for the following test: Administrative Assistant, Phlebotomy, EKG, and Clinical Medical Assisting.

The Phlebotomy certification program at Me 2 You Career Academy provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to become qualified for entry-level positions in the healthcare industry. The program covers topics such as venipuncture techniques, infection control, and medical terminology, and includes hands-on training in a clinical setting. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the national certification exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
