Program Overview:
The Welding & Fabrication with Pipeline Technology diploma program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue entry-level positions in the welding and fabrication industry. This program provides comprehensive training in welding procedures, blueprint reading, fabrication, layout, and various welding techniques. Students receive hands-on instruction in oxyacetylene welding, brazing, cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), MIG Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Welding (FCAW), TIG welding (GTAW), pipe welding, and certification test preparation according to industry standards. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Credential Awarded:
Successful graduates will earn a diploma upon completion of the program
Certifications Available:
The program offers certifications including OSHA-10, AWS D1.1 Structural Welding, AWS Flux Core Welding, AWS 6G Pipe
Program Advisory Committee:
To ensure the program's relevance and alignment with industry standards, Laurel holds annual Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings with individuals familiar with occupational requirements. Changes to the program are made in consultation with relevant authorities.

Laurel is dedicated to providing career-focused education and professional certifications for individuals seeking employment in various careers in response to the needs of the regional employer community. We are proudly accredited by Accrediting Commission of Careers Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Accreditation is a form of quality control, ensuring that institutions of higher education satisfy certain standards. To ensure we always meet those standards, Laurel is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of License Schools. Laurel is also approved to participate in NC-Sara through the PA Department of Education. We have programmatic accreditation through CoARC for our Respiratory Therapy program.
