Program Overview:
The Practical Nursing diploma program provides students with a comprehensive education in practical nursing, emphasizing safety, effectiveness, and professionalism. The curriculum combines classroom instruction, skills laboratory practice, simulation education, and clinical experiences to prepare students for real-world nursing scenarios. Courses cover essential topics such as Nutrition Therapy, Human Growth and Development, Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, and core nursing principles. Graduates are eligible to apply for licensure as practical nurses and pursue employment opportunities in various healthcare settings.
Credential Awarded:
Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a diploma
Certifications Available:
Laurel’s program prepares students to take industry recognized certifications such as Phlebotomy, CPR, EKG, and First Aid.
License Available:
Successful completion of the program and passing the NCLEX-PN exam enables students to apply for licensure as Licensed Practical Nurses.
Accreditation:
The program undergoes regular reviews to ensure alignment with industry standards and workforce needs. It is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools, and accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges.
Program Advisory Committee:
Laurel has established a Program Advisory Committee to ensure that the curriculum remains aligned with current job market trends and employer needs. Any program changes are made with the approval of the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges.

We are proudly accredited by Accrediting Commission of Careers Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). Accreditation is a form of quality control, ensuring that institutions of higher education satisfy certain standards. To ensure we always meet those standards, Laurel is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, State Board of License Schools. Laurel is also approved to participate in NC-Sara through the PA Department of Education. We have programmatic accreditation through CoARC for our Respiratory Therapy program.
