HPI’s medication assistant endorsement program is a three-to-five-week course with 100 hours of instruction divided between theory/lab hours and clinical experience. As Washington State’s first school to provide this certification, our instructors are among the most experienced in Seattle.
The phlebotomy technician program is a ten-twelve-week course with 300 hours of training, including 70 hours of classroom time, 70 hours of laboratory simulation, and 160 hours of externship. We cap all of our programs to 50 students maximum so that you will always have our highly experienced instructors available. After completing our program, you will be prepared to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam.
This is a fully accredited 75-hour program. Individuals who graduate earn: * Home Care Aide designation * 7 hours of HIV/AIDS training * Mental Health Certificate * Dementia certificate * Safety & Orientation certificate. As an ECG technician, you are responsible for performing diagnostic tests related to patients’ heart rhythm and the electrical activity of a heartbeat. You will work directly with patients in a variety of circumstances. Duties as an ECG technician include: Attaching electrodes to patient's chest, arms, and legs, Performing electrocardiograms, Explaining procedures to patients, Monitoring patients' blood pressure, Positioning patients. ECG technicians must have strong analytical skills to interpret test results and a compassionate demeanor with patients who view electrocardiograms as stressful procedures.
