Clinical Rotations: This is where the magic happens! Once you've nailed the theory and demos, you'll work directly with residents at a long-term care facility, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
After graduating from our program, you'll be all set to take the California State Certification Examination to become a certified hero. How cool is that?

Our Home Health Aide (HHA) program is a meticulously designed 40-hour course that can either supplement an existing Nurse Assistant Certificate or serve as a standalone course for Certified Nurse Assistants.
The course content is designed to build on the current knowledge, skills, and abilities of nurse assistants and consists of:
20 hours of theoretical instruction.
20 hours of clinical practice.
Five key topics form the core of our curriculum:
Introduction to Aide and Agency Role
Interpretation of Medical and Social Needs of People Being Served
Personal Care Services
Nutrition
Cleaning and Care Tasks in the Home
Upon successful completion, students will receive a Home Health Certificate directly from the California Department of Public Health. Your journey towards becoming a qualified Home Health Aide starts here at Gerthill Allied Health School.
