Foundation Health Partners is excited to partner with Alaska Pacific University and Alaska Hospital and Healthcare Association to offer an ACEN-accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program to Interior Alaska residents. The program is presented in a hybrid format, with lectures offered online and recorded to give students flexibility, and in-person, hands-on instruction in simulation labs and on the floor in clinical areas. The unique curriculum is designed to develop students to provide culturally safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care to restore, promote, and maintain physical and mental health throughout the lifespan in various healthcare settings, including hospital, clinic, and long-term care.
Foundation Health Partners (FHP) in Fairbanks, Alaska, stands as a cornerstone of healthcare in the community, embodying a community-owned and operated model. With three main facilities—Tanana Valley Clinic, Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, and Denali Center—FHP provides comprehensive healthcare services that address a broad spectrum of needs. As the largest private employer in the Interior region, the system's influence extends beyond healthcare, significantly contributing to the local economy.
FHP offers diverse services ranging from primary care to specialized treatment areas such as addiction medicine, cardiology, and oncology, featuring facilities like the J. Michael Carroll Cancer Center. The system's focus on community health is further bolstered by initiatives such as the Community Health Needs Assessment, and its embrace of telehealth technologies like Telestroke and TeleNephrology enhances access to care in remote areas. Financial aid for underinsured populations and reinvestment in community wellness underscore FHP's dedication to meeting the community's healthcare needs, reflecting a deep-rooted commitment since its establishment in 1968.
