The Denali Center is proud to offer a paid training opportunity for individuals seeking to work as a Certified Nurse Aide. Successful applicants will begin their first weeks of employment as a student in our state-approved training program, which blends classroom, simulation labs, and hands-on clinical experiences. Each class has a max of eight students to ensure the highest quality educational experience. Upon completion, participants are qualified to sit for the State of Alaska Nurse Aide Certification Exam. This course includes a minimum of 60 classroom/online instruction hours and 80 supervised skills and clinical experience hours. Trainees will spend 40-hours a week training in the classroom and working hands-on in the neighborhoods of Denali Center, strengthening their understanding of CNA job duties, and building relationships with residents and staff. All class materials, licensing and application fees related to the course are covered by Foundation Health Partners. Employment with Denali Center as a CNA for at least a year after certification is expected of participants.
Foundation Health Partners is excited to partner with Alaska Pacific University and Alaska Hospital and Healthcare Association to offer an ACEN-accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program to Interior Alaska residents. The program is presented in a hybrid format, with lectures offered online and recorded to give students flexibility, and in-person, hands-on instruction in simulation labs and on the floor in clinical areas. The unique curriculum is designed to develop students to provide culturally safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care to restore, promote, and maintain physical and mental health throughout the lifespan in various healthcare settings, including hospital, clinic, and long-term care.

An internship with Foundation Health Partners can give you an edge when applying to health care degree programs. FHP’s Summer High School Internship Program (SHIP) is a meaningful resume builder designed to help our interns grow their futures. Interns will be placed in one department for 5 weeks to work up to 15 hours a week. Interns will have the option to attend additional weekly exploration activities in a variety of areas within Foundation Health Partners, including, but not limited to, the operating room, medical laboratory and radiology. Eligible students must be a rising sophomore through current year graduate, and must be in good standing at their school.
