The Medical Assisting Program teaches you the skills you need to play a supporting role in the healthcare industry as a medical assistant! Common medical assistant duties include assisting with EKGs and x-rays, preparing the patient for physical exams, assisting the physician with minor surgical procedures, and sterilizing instruments. In some work settings, the medical assistant is expected to effectively handle administrative office procedures such as billing, coding, scheduling, insurance claims, and electronic record keeping. The Medical Assisting Program at Delta Tech (DTC) is taught by instructors with real-world experience in the medical field. Medical assistant classes at DTC include a combination of hands-on lab instruction and classroom training. The Medical Assisting Program concludes with an externship that gives you in-the-field experience in a medical facility such as physician’s office, chiropractor’s office, or podiatrist’s office or clinic.
