Wastewater Operator Certification Program

This Wastewater Operator Certification Program is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The coursework prepares entry-level operators for certification and employment. The successful candidate must enroll for Wastewater Treatment Operator certification Level 1 and Level 2. The training is divided into two 90-hour sessions. Wastewater Treatment Operators are essential in the treatment and transferring of water and wastewater. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median pay for Wastewater Operators is $44,100 and the field is projected to grow by 6 percent over the next decade.

This comprehensive program blends theoretical learning with practical hands-on experience to prepare students for a wide range of administrative roles in various industries. In this 216-hour program, students will gain certification level skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and knowledge of office management systems and procedures. In addition, this course will teach students how to organize and schedule appointments using software, draft letters, emails and other communications, prepare reports and presentations, plan meetings, and manage other general administrative activities. Students will also learn QuickBooks and remote workplace meeting tools such as Zoom, MS Teams, and GoToMeeting. An essential aspect of business begins with social interactions; the customer service course will explore diversity, implicit bias, and other social ideas that often lead to miscommunication in the workplace.

High School Dual Enrollment

The College’s Dual Enrollment Program provides eligible high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while they are still in high school at a fraction of the standard tuition rates. The College offers different types of dual enrollment programs such as College in the High School, Open Dual Enrollment and Structured Pathways. Depending on high school participation, high school students may participate in College in the High School or a Structured Pathways program. However, any eligible high school student may participate in Open Dual Enrollment. The Teacher Education Program is open to high school students who are ready to jumpstart their coursework toward a professional career in the preK-12 education field. The PACE+ Program provides Residential Carpentry and Electrical pre-apprenticeship programs that can lead to Apprenticeships, Certificate programs or employment. Please note: registration for all college courses as a Dual Enrollment High School student depends on test scores and prerequisite requirements.

Welding Certificate Program

Welding is an extremely important aspect in the architecture of buildings, ships, bridges, and more. The opportunities for qualified welders are great, reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). The College has designed a 225-hour hands-on training program that delivers an introduction to welding and training in Oxyfuel cutting (OFC), SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), GMAW (gas metal arc welding), Blueprint reading and basic fabrication. These skills are in high demand in today’s workplace and will prepare students for entry level welding position.

This program is designed to teach students the necessary skills to compete in the High Demand Occupations of Building Maintenance Managers and Maintenance Technicians.
