The Dental Assistant certification program at Chesapeake College is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the dental field as assistants. The program is a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on learning in a simulated dental environment. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification exam.
Our classes serve five counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore: Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, and Queen Anne’s. All of our GED and English classes are free to students; however, our Attendance Policy is strictly enforced. We have in-person and online classes that typically run twice a week (M/W and T/Th). Our evening classes run from 6-9 p.m. and our day classes run from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. To register for our classes, students need to attend an info session, fill out a registration form, and take a level assessment test. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class offered by Chesapeake College (CCC) in Easton, MD provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a CNA. Learn skills to work in the animal care field. As trained Veterinary Assistants, students will support vet technicians and vets in a variety of inpatient and outpatient activities. The program consists of four noncredit courses that include supervised clinical practicum hours completed outside of the classroom. Certificate of completion awarded for successful completion of the program. Prior approval from program coordinator required to register. Students will register for all sections in the course at one time (Vet I, II, III, and IV).

The application cycle for Spring 2024 will be available from August 15 to October 31, 2023. The application deadline will be October 31, 2023. To qualify for admission, students must meet the following criteria: 1) be a current Chesapeake College student; 2) have a GED or high school diploma (transcript or certificate required); 3) maintain an address in the five county region and 4) meet the Reading Comprehension and Arithmetic assessment scores. The program application must contain either the assessment scores or evidence that the applicant has completed college-level Math or English. Incomplete applications may not be accepted.
