The Biotechnology program provides in-depth knowledge and laboratory benchwork at our state-of-the-art facility located at the University of Maryland BioPark, to prepare students to work in the biotechnology field. These programs also include an internship component for students to acquire real life experiences. The Lab Animal Sciences Certificate is aligned with the American Association of Laboratory Animal Sciences and is the only lab animal certificate program offered in the state of Maryland. Credits earned in the Biotechnology Lab and Lab Animal certificates are stackable to the Biotechnology Associate degree. Biotechnology Associate degree credits can transfer to bachelor’s programs in Biology, Biotechnology and Medical Research Technology in universities and four-year colleges in and outside Maryland. This program is located at the University of Maryland Baltimore campus at UM BioPark.
