As the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) trade is growing, and College of Western Idaho's (CWI) HVAC Apprenticeship program is your key to starting a rewarding career in a field increasingly in need of trained and licensed technicians, installers, and trouble shooters.

This four-year program will take your skills from the basics to being prepared to take the journeyman test to become a licensed HVAC technician. HVAC Apprenticeship classes are available in a hyflex format offering in-person and virtual class options with 576 hours of classroom training and 8,000 hours of on-the job experience.

Learn from industry experts in the classroom in concert with employment in the HVAC field for on-the-job training while earning a living. Courses will teach refrigeration as applied to air conditioning theory,  electrical theory, motors and basic electrical controls, International Fuel Gas and Mechanical Code, installation methods, and much more.

The Certificate Program in HVAC provides a structured approach to learning the in-depth technical principles and applications you need to design new HVAC systems and retrofit existing systems to meet energy-conservation and comfort standards. The curriculum is overseen by an advisory board of industry and education leaders and approved by the University of California, Berkeley, College of Environmental Design, ensuring your education is relevant and up to date. Courses are taught by working professionals with many years of practical experience.

The need for qualified heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) technicians is never going away. Collin College can teach you what it takes to work in the residential HVAC industry installing and servicing gas and electric furnaces and heat pump systems.

You will learn how to work safely and responsibly within Environmental Protection Agency guidelines and standards that apply to the HVAC industry, and identify and use HVAC equipment, components and tools, while understanding their functions within the industry. You will also learn common mechanical, electrical and electronic components such as compressors, switches, thermostats, motors and fans. You will even be able to practice all of the techniques you learn with heat pumps, heating units, a/c units, refrigeration units and more with hands-on instruction in Collin College facilities.

The program includes installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the HVAC industry.

The HVAC certification program at MRBS is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The program covers topics such as system design, installation, maintenance, and repair. The Certified Professional HVAC Technician class offered by Erie 1 BOCES is a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of HVAC maintenance and repair. This 8-week evening course is taught by experienced HVAC industry professionals and will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to service air conditioners, heat pumps, and more. Upon completion, students will have earned the nationally recognized North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Certification.

Erie Community College-North offers an HVAC certification program designed to prepare students for the growing demand for HVAC professionals in the industry. The program covers topics such as refrigeration, ventilation, heating, and air conditioning maintenance and repair. Upon completion of the program, graduates have the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in HVAC installation, repair, or maintenance.
