As the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) trade is growing, and College of Western Idaho's (CWI) HVAC Apprenticeship program is your key to starting a rewarding career in a field increasingly in need of trained and licensed technicians, installers, and trouble shooters.

This four-year program will take your skills from the basics to being prepared to take the journeyman test to become a licensed HVAC technician. HVAC Apprenticeship classes are available in a hyflex format offering in-person and virtual class options with 576 hours of classroom training and 8,000 hours of on-the job experience.

Learn from industry experts in the classroom in concert with employment in the HVAC field for on-the-job training while earning a living. Courses will teach refrigeration as applied to air conditioning theory,  electrical theory, motors and basic electrical controls, International Fuel Gas and Mechanical Code, installation methods, and much more.

The Certificate Program in HVAC provides a structured approach to learning the in-depth technical principles and applications you need to design new HVAC systems and retrofit existing systems to meet energy-conservation and comfort standards. The curriculum is overseen by an advisory board of industry and education leaders and approved by the University of California, Berkeley, College of Environmental Design, ensuring your education is relevant and up to date. Courses are taught by working professionals with many years of practical experience.

The need for qualified heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) technicians is never going away. Collin College can teach you what it takes to work in the residential HVAC industry installing and servicing gas and electric furnaces and heat pump systems.

You will learn how to work safely and responsibly within Environmental Protection Agency guidelines and standards that apply to the HVAC industry, and identify and use HVAC equipment, components and tools, while understanding their functions within the industry. You will also learn common mechanical, electrical and electronic components such as compressors, switches, thermostats, motors and fans. You will even be able to practice all of the techniques you learn with heat pumps, heating units, a/c units, refrigeration units and more with hands-on instruction in Collin College facilities.

Franklin Cummings Tech’s 800-hour certificate program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and hands-on skills to become successful HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) technicians.

The HVAC certification program at New England Tractor Trailer School (NETTTS) is an all-inclusive training program designed to equip students with the necessary technical, communication and customer service skills required to become certified HVAC technicians. NETTTS' hands-on curriculum includes instruction on installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems. This program provides a direct transition from classroom theory to hands-on training, enabling students to master the skills needed to become a successful HVAC technician.

The Industrial Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC-R) program at Kellogg Community College prepares students to install, maintain and repair these systems utilizing our top-notch equipment and self-paced instructional method. 

The HVAC Certification class offered by Auburn University (AU) in Alabama is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become a certified HVAC technician. The course covers topics such as safety, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a certificate of completion from AU.
