The Welding Training Program provides students with a foundation via online classes and on-site lab training in a fully equipped welding lab. The Welding Program teaches students basic shop skills, how to read blue prints, and safe and efficient work practices. The core of this program is the required lab training, which provides students with hands-on experience in the lab.

Students are allowed to utilize the different welding techniques they’ve learned in the lab, placing their newly learned skills to the test. Students graduate from the program with skills and hands-on training necessary for a new entry-level career as a welder.

As a mechanical engineering technology (MET) student at ODU, you will take courses in areas such as computer-aided drafting, statistics, strength of materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, automation and controls, and computer solid modeling. 

This online mechanical engineering technology program includes a minor in engineering or science and a senior project.

When you graduate, you will earn a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with a major in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

As the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) trade is growing, and College of Western Idaho's (CWI) HVAC Apprenticeship program is your key to starting a rewarding career in a field increasingly in need of trained and licensed technicians, installers, and trouble shooters.

This four-year program will take your skills from the basics to being prepared to take the journeyman test to become a licensed HVAC technician. HVAC Apprenticeship classes are available in a hyflex format offering in-person and virtual class options with 576 hours of classroom training and 8,000 hours of on-the job experience.

Learn from industry experts in the classroom in concert with employment in the HVAC field for on-the-job training while earning a living. From maintenance technicians to industrial mechanics, each role is unique to encompass specified or a variety of large-scale machinery.

The Applied Technology programs utilize a creative partnership approach designed to prepare you for a career path leading to a wide range of opportunities and leadership positions. Under this unique model, you complete general education and business courses through Clarion University, either on campus or online, and the technical component of the degree through licensed, certified, accredited, and/or otherwise approved technical education providers. Graduates receive an Associate or Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Clarion University.
