An Electronics Engineer designs and develops electronic equipment, from iPods to global positioning systems (GPS). Works primarily with smaller electronic equipment that uses electricity as a means of storing information.

This certificate is designed to provide students with the fundamentals of electronics technology. It also prepares students for entry-level positions in electronics maintenance, installation, field service, networking, and apprenticeship in the field of electronics technology. 

The Certificate in Advanced Electronics program is composed entirely of elective courses and provides advanced study in electronic design and device theory for those who wish to enhance their analog and digital design skills, while increasing their knowledge of the underlying device physics.

Penn State is offering a new electrical engineering certificate online that students can customize to fit their career interests.

Applications are being accepted for the Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Electrical Engineering. The nine-credit certificate is being offered online through Penn State World Campus in partnership with the Penn State Harrisburg School of Science, Engineering, and Technology and the Penn State Department of Electrical Engineering.

The certificate is designed for working engineers interested in transitioning to electrical engineering or electrical engineers looking to advance in the field. The certificate can be completed in one year or less, said Robert Gray, associate professor of electrical engineering at Penn State Harrisburg and professor in charge of the online program.

The Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology Composite will provide you with knowledge and experience in electronics technology and applications in computer systems design, research and development, and manufacturing and testing.

We also have two 100% online Bachelor of Applied Art and Science (BAAS) degrees (analog and digital) designed to combine technical course credits if you have earned an associate degree in a specific area of vocational or technical emphasis.

The program of study is arranged in a logical sequence, with study moving from the most basic concepts through highly technical principles. Several professional courses are offered to assist in the development of managerial skills.

Graduates of the online Electronics Engineering Technology Program are qualified for highly technical and professional careers in instrumentation and control, technical sales and field services, electronics manufacturing, and electrical power operations.

The online Electronics Engineering Technology Program is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories). The program also is open to students in Canada (all provinces). The program is closed to students residing in countries other than the U.S. and Canada except for U.S. military and State Department personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses.

Take your first step toward a career designing, testing and manufacturing electrical hardware and software with UMass Lowell's Electronic Engineering Technology program, delivered through a blend of on-campus and online courses. Throughout this program, you will learn fundamental laws, conversion techniques and mathematic analysis of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) circuits. All credits earned in this certificate program can be applied toward the Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering Technology.
