Throughout this program the adult students will learn how to work with patients and healthcare professionals, draw, handle, and store body fluids, understand the importance of infection prevention, demonstrate skills such as first aid, venipunctures, urinalysis, centrifuging and processing, etc. Labs will offer hands-on training to prepare the students for skills required to receive the national phlebotomy technician certification.
A phlebotomy technician is someone who draws blood from patients. Phlebotomists collect and prepare blood for diagnostic tests, donations, and blood transfusions.
