The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to prepare students to become skilled entry-level technicians who work closely with doctors, nurses, and other allied health professionals. It provides an overall review of the most current phlebotomy practices and procedures. Students will be taught basic entry level courses described below. They will learn competency skills for both capillary and venous laboratory procedures accompanied by comprehensive classroom lecture. The Phlebotomy Technician Course will be presented with two options 8 weeks for the AM class and 10 weeks for the PM Class. Both options will consist of 84 classroom lecture hours, 36 clinical laboratory hours and 40 hours of clinical externship. Course offerings will be based on minimum enrollment requirements.
