If you have a current unencumbered LPN license, you may be a candidate for advanced placement into WNCC’s associate degree program. You must have completed your general education prerequisites in order to be eligible for admission into the second year of this two-year, registered nurse program.
Along with completing the application for admission, you will also need to submit a copy of your current LPN license and maintain your licensed status throughout the duration of the program.
Admission for advanced placement is selective. You will need to meet the application requirements in order to be considered for our next fall class. You can request a program information packet, which includes information about the selection process and applicant requirements, from the Health Science Division-Nursing Department. We encourage you to make an appointment to discuss the details of ADN requirements. The number of advanced placement students accepted into the program will be determined by admission space availability.
To participate in the nursing program, you will need to attend on a full-time basis. During the academic year, you will have classroom work and lab/clinical rotations. Clinical rotations take place during days and evenings, and potentially on the weekends. Clinical hours are completed in area hospitals, provider’s clinics, community-based settings and long-term care facilities. You will earn an Associate Degree in Nursing upon graduation from the program. Background checks are required.
