About

The Michigan Department of Corrections gives hiring preference to candidates who have completed a degree program or occupational certificate in Corrections. However, any combination of five courses (15 credits) from the following list will meet the minimum educational requirements established by the Michigan Department of Corrections.

The courses listed are those currently offered by WSCC, which fall into at least one of the categories specified in the MDOC requirements. Students must attain at least a “C” (2.0) grade for a course to count toward the 15 credit requirement. Students are responsible for satisfying all prerequisite requirements.
