AVC's Airframe Manufacturing Technology Program (AFMT) is a one-of-a-kind program specifically designed to meet the need in the aerospace industry for multi-skilled individuals who understand, perform, and serve as first-line leads in the major processes of manufacturing the structural components of an aircraft for civilian and military specifications. The program's curriculum addresses airframe manufacturing, aircraft fabrication (structures and composites), and electronics. The AFMT Bachelor's program is geared toward students who have completed or are in progress of completing a two-year program in Aircraft Fabrication and Assembly, and who are interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree in Aircraft Manufacturing Technology. Students will enter directly as juniors (3rd-year track students). AVC is very interested in Veterans and people working at locations, such as Edwards Air Force Base.
With our new EnGen program, English-language learners can begin preparing for rewarding careers while also learning the English-language skills commonly used in specific industries. EnGen bridges the gap between traditional methods of instruction and career-focused programs, enabling students to learn and apply specific English skills targeted to their ultimate career goals. The program moves learners through a self-paced framework to accelerate results and achieve a degree or certification. (Every student is different, and their learning experience should reflect that.)
Computer Science is one of the most sought-after degree programs in California Community Colleges, as well as the transfer institutions of California State Universities and University of California campuses. The popularity of this program stems from software developed for computer platforms on desktop PCs, notebooks, and mobile devices. The gaming industry has contributed to this exciting field with creating distinct and powerful games. This program is designed to provide students with programming skills in various languages, for transfer to four-year universities as well as gaining access into industries across the world. This program provides our students a path to success.
Prepares the student for entry level employment on a wildland fire crew. Meets the basic training requirements for the U.S. Forest Service firefighter qualification system, through National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) basic firefighter training courses. These NWCG courses include S-130, S-190, L-180, FEMA IS-100.b and IS-700.a. This course is intended for students who wish to pursue a career with a wildland fire suppression agency or for a specialty with a municipal fire control agency. (CSU, AVC) (R unlimited*)
The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care (BSRC) provides students who already possess the associate degree and licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) with additional knowledge, skills, and attributes in leadership, management, education, research and advanced clinical practice. The BSRC allows students to accomplish their professional goals and prepare for advanced degrees without leaving the Antelope Valley, and at a fraction of the cost compared to other institutions offering bachelor’s degrees.
