About

When you pursue a healthcare education to be a medical assistant, you will learn to provide face-to-face care underneath the supervision of physicians, registered nurses, and other specialists. In Ultimate Medical Academy’s (UMA) Health Sciences – Clinical Medical Assistant (HSCMA) associate degree program, you can earn an associate degree in 18 months.¹

Our CMA program curriculum includes topics focused on both the administrative and clinical side of the medical assistant field, as well as soft skills, such as leadership and patient interface. In addition to the program’s online coursework, you’ll gain the opportunity to participate in a 180-hour externship. Here, you’ll apply your training to hands-on experience in the workplace.

Becoming a certified medical assistant may give you an advantage when it comes time to look for a job. A certified medical assistant certification prep course and mock test are included in the program curriculum, preparing you to sit for the exam after graduation.

UMA graduates in this program may find entry-level medical assistant positions in the following environments:

  • Physicians’ offices
  • Hospitals
