The Emergency Medical Technician – Basic course is designed to be a pathway to provide basic critical care medicine outside the hospital or healthcare environment. EMT-B’s are utilized throughout the community, in addition to government and private industry where medical emergencies may be faced. The course utilizes standardized and online lectures, presentations, simulation, and practical skills to allow the student to prepare for the State and national certification testing.

Whether you are a seeking a new career path or expanding skills within a current vocation, obtaining an EMT-B certification offers new opportunities a person seeking EMT-B certification new opportunities to serve the community. The 150-190 clock hours will meet the State and National Registry requirements to allow students to sit for the EMT – B certification test.

The program includes didactic, practical lab, and simulation at our campus in Vancouver, Washington. In addition to the program being at the certificate level, the program features Basic anatomy and physiology, patient assessment, medical and traumatic injuries and their management. Students who complete this course are eligible for the National Registry EMT- B exam.

We also offer programs for dental offices, clinics and healthcare organizations that incorporates this lifesaving training to help staff develop a coordinated response to emergencies. The Resuscitation Group can offer Instructor facilitated programs or a blended computer and skills program. This Blended learning is a combination of computer eLearning followed by a hands-on skills session.
