The Phlebotomy certification program at Steel Center for Career and Technical Education is designed to prepare students for a career in the medical field. The program provides students with hands-on experience in drawing blood and specimen collection procedures. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the national certification exam to become a certified phlebotomist.

Steel Center provides Career and Technical Education to high school students from 11 school districts in Allegheny County. Their goal is to develop knowledge, skills and aptitude necessary to be successful in their choice careers. Their mission is to provide challenging, meaningful and relevant career and technical education training for students that supports the growth of individuals, families, and the workforce within communities.
