Springfield Technical Community College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program in Springfield, Massachusetts, prepares students to operate imaging equipment, create diagnostic images, and conduct tests that support the evaluation of disease and injury. The program awards an Associate in Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging and prepares eligible students to sit for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography credentialing exam in Sonographic Principles and Instrumentation. Delivered through classroom instruction, laboratory work, and clinical practicums, the program runs for approximately two years and prepares students for abdominal and obstetric and gynecologic sonography specialties. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
