Sonography is a medical imaging procedure that uses high frequency sound waves to produce images of organs, tissues or blood flow inside the body. This accredited program prepares you to use ultrasound machines and other specialized equipment to perform diagnostic exams on patients. You’ll study normal and abnormal anatomy, pathophysiology of the abdomen, small body parts, OB/GYN and vascular structures.
Whether you want to work in a large hospital system, at an outpatient imaging center or at a specialty office, this program will provide you with the knowledge and hands-on clinical skills to enter the sonography workforce within 21 months.
The Pharmacy Technician Program at SCC is a four-quarter program consisting of classroom instruction, laboratory practice and clinical pharmacy training. Students are required to complete a National Background Check.
Each required course for graduation must be completed with a 2.0 grade or better before proceeding to the next quarter in all classes. Each student is required to complete 176 clinical hours in community and hospital or home health care for a total of 352 hours.
After completion of the program, students are required to take and pass the National Certification Exam before applying for a Pharmacy Technician license issued by the Washington Quality Assurance Commission (formally known at the Washington State Board of Pharmacy).
The student may enroll in liberal arts either preceding or following the professional curriculum. For an associate in applied science degree, the student must complete 25 credit hours of required courses and 7 hours of department approved electives numbered 100 or above in addition to the one-year professional curriculum.

The program works with modern technologies and programming languages. The program exposes students to technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Responsive Website Design, JavaScript, Node.js, PHP/Laravel, Android/Kotlin and DBMS/SQL. The program also allows students to develop soft skills in agile development, project management and job preparation techniques.
Students must maintain a grade of 2.0 in each class. All software required for the program is available in CIS labs. Students can purchase the software to use at home with student discounts.

In this accredited program, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to care for patients as an important part of the dental team. You’ll learn to assist dentists with charting, instruments, X-rays, patient education, office management, patient records and other duties essential to a successful dental practice. Your training will include hands-on practice and learning experiences in real dentist offices.
Job opportunities in the field are excellent. Whether you want to work in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery or orthodontics, wherever there are dentists, there is a need for qualified dental assistants.
We offer a seven quarter, two-year Associate’s Degree of Applied Science (A.A.S) in HVAC/R. Graduates of the program are prepared for entry-level positions as a technician in the HVAC/R trade, a rewarding career that is fast-paced, challenging, and requires an independent mindset.
Students of the SCC HVAC/R program study electrical theory, motors, controls, refrigeration theory, gas and electric furnace troubleshooting, air conditioner and refrigeration system troubleshooting, heat pump troubleshooting, and computer based digital controls. Hands-on learning and troubleshooting is an important part of our program. The SCC HVAC/R lab has over 120 pieces of operational equipment for students to learn on and practice with. All pieces of equipment were installed by students, and have been maintained by students. Classroom theory is backed up with real-world testing, measurement, and troubleshooting on actual pieces of equipment students will see in the field after they graduate. An optional internship is available sixth and seventh quarters as well. Students will have the opportunity to take the tests to receive their Spokane Gas Heating Mechanic’s 1 License and EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling License. Students will also register to receive their WA L&I Electrical Trainee License, and will start to receive credit for hours that will apply towards an electrical license.

The 12 week EMT course includes 150 hours of lecture, lab, and clinical rotations both on the ambulance and in the Emergency Department (ED). The course meets and exceeds all National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH) and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) requirements to sit for the national registry exam.
