In our Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, you’ll work to develop a strong academic and clinical foundation. With classroom, laboratory, and hands-on clinical training from our experienced instructors, you’ll work to learn how to function as part of a healthcare team to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary care that improves patient outcomes. In your major nursing courses, you’ll undertake a rigorous schedule with approximately 20 hours of in-class time per week, along with work outside of the classroom, including reading and analysis. Courses explore mental health, pediatric, adult health, and maternal infant nursing care. By the time you earn your ASN, you’ll have worked to gain the fundamental skills and technical competence needed and will be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam.
Our Associate of Science in Health Science (Pre-Pharmacy) program includes all of the foundational courses needed for students who plan to apply to our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. To get you ready, you’ll study anatomy, physiology, biology, chemistry, and more. Upon completing this program, you’ll be prepared to apply to our Doctor of Pharmacy program, as well as other select advanced degree programs in the health sciences. You may also choose to pursue a variety of entry-level healthcare positions. If you complete our AS in Health Science (Pre-Pharmacy) program followed by our PharmD program, you’ll earn 3 degrees in as little as 5 years—an AS in Health Science (Pre-Pharmacy), a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Science (Pre-Pharmacy), and a Doctor of Pharmacy.
The Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at South College was the first in the country to be offered through a 2-year blended-learning model, presenting a flexible semi-online alternative for students who want to enter the physical therapy profession. The unique curriculum, clinical education program, and post-professional residency collaborations are specifically designed to reduce the cost of DPT education and fast-track your future career in physical therapy. In our Associate of Science in Medical Assisting Advanced program, you’ll work to learn how to perform select lab testing, assist practitioners with examining and treating patients, and provide essential administrative support in medical settings. In your courses, you’ll study human anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, pharmacology, and more. You’ll learn about clinical and lab procedures, as well as common medical office routines. In addition to classroom instruction, you’ll get practical hands-on training in our campus labs and gain 180 hours of field experience in a real medical facility through completion of a practicum. By the time you graduate, you’ll have worked to develop entry level skills in medical assisting to serve as a valued member of the healthcare team.
Our online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) post-master’s program is designed to develop transformational nurse leaders who have the skills and expertise to meet the needs of the global nursing community. In this program, you’ll explore topics that include population health and emerging disease, organizational leadership, healthcare policy and economics, quality improvement, program evaluation, and more. In addition to your online coursework, discussions, and other activities, you’ll listen to lecture presentations prepared and delivered by leading clinicians, researchers, and academics in the nursing profession. In our Associate of Science in Radiography program, you’ll focus on how to use radiographic equipment to produce images and help doctors diagnose patients. The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program with a concentration in Nursing Informatics is a challenging and comprehensive program that can help you further develop the critical thinking and analytical skills needed for today’s competitive and evolving healthcare environments. Designed to accommodate the schedules of working nurses, this MSN program combines online coursework with hands-on clinical practice experiences. A BSN-MSN track is available. The core MSN courses offer advanced study in pathophysiology, pharmacology, health assessment, research methods, and evidence-based practice.

In our Practical Nursing (PN) certificate program, you’ll work to complete academic and clinical practice opportunities to build the knowledge and skills essential for the demands of today’s healthcare environment. The LPN program offers a challenging curriculum that cultivates your ability to apply knowledge, think critically, and communicate effectively. In our courses, you’ll focus on proper procedures to collect and organize healthcare data, coordinate with other nurses and healthcare providers to provide patient care, contribute to the care plan, and identify and understand common health problems in patients. Courses cover medical surgical, mental health, pediatric, geriatric, and maternal infant nursing, including hands-on practice in nursing simulation labs and clinical sites. As a graduate, you’ll be eligible to take the LPN licensure examination (NCLEX-PN).
