Students will explore the fundamentals associated with the role of clinical and administrative medical assistance. Students will learn regulations and theory during lectures. During clinical skills labs students will master practical skills in accordance with the American Association of Medical Assistants. The curriculum includes infection control, phlebotomy, fundamentals of vital signs, assisting in the patient exam, patient coaching, electronic health record maintenance, anatomy and physiology, EKG, pharmacology, law and ethics, insurance, billing and coding, medical office management, professionalism, and essential soft skills. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take a national exam through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA). National exams are taken at the campus.
SOAH
Headquartered in Hammonton, NJ, SOAH is an AMCA-approved career training center specializing in allied health education. They offer in-person clinical skills clinics and a 16-week Medical Assistant program covering clinical, administrative, and phlebotomy functions, as well as a 6-8 week Phlebotomy Technician program. SOAH focuses on providing innovative, relevant skills training with a strong emphasis on real-time clinical practice and one-on-one instruction, ensuring students gain employable skills and workforce readiness to bridge the gap between education and healthcare delivery.
