This course is a 4-day /4-hour class from 4pm to 8pm and you are required to attend EVERY class to receive certification. In order to take the class: Students must have a valid driver’s license. Those taking Cat 2 (Motorcycle) test, MUST have a motorcycle driver’s license. For category 3 (Medium & Heavy Trucks under 26,000 lb.) a CDL license is not required to take the test. Restrictions apply. It is the Inspector’s responsibility to research the requirements/restrictions that apply to their license.

The experience and knowledge gained throughout the course can assist graduates with obtaining employment in the field and changing their lives. Previous experience is not required to sign up for the welding technician program. Students can complete Rosedale Tech’s welding technician program in as little as eight months. Here is what can be expected throughout the program. Gain Experience in a Hands-On Learning Environment At Rosedale, students learn welding using standard tools and situations in the industry. Some of the training our students may receive includes working with: Electric arc welders, Flux core arc welders, Gas tungsten arc welders, Gas metal arc welders, Oxy-fuel cutting, portable, and semi-automatic burning equipment, Hydraulic shears, Handheld grinders and bevelers, Metalworking band saws. Learn through Comprehensive Welding Courses Our courses in this welding program provide students with the necessary experience and knowledge to enter employment across multiple industries. The team of welding instructors are highly trained and bring years of industry experience. Daytime and evening programs are available for welding training. Some of the techniques students may learn include: Arc welding (SMAW), MIG welding (GMAW), and TIG welding (GTMA), Thermal cutting processes, Welding print reading, Welding fabrication, Metallurgy, Nonferrous welding, Pipe welding, Welding testing and inspection.

For nearly 75 years, Rosedale Technical College’s diesel mechanic training programs have offered focused, hands-on education that provides the foundational knowledge needed to begin a career as a diesel technician. We have a great team of instructors who have real industry experience and are ASE certified. They guide students through the technical training in the classroom and step in as mentors when students are struggling to focus on their education. Under their instruction, students learn topics, such as hydraulics, transmissions, brakes and suspensions, engine diagnostics, and more. Students in our diesel degree program also have the opportunity to train and test for a Class-A CDL license. Our support doesn’t stop at graduation. We use our network of regional employers to help match students with jobs that meet their goals, whether that be a part-time or full-time job while in school or a full-time position after graduation. While job placement is not guaranteed, we are proud of our job placement rate and work to continuously educate our students on employment opportunities available through our career fairs, mock interviews, employer presentations, and more.

Students enrolled in the TECHcellence program can collect a part-time paycheck as they learn under the personal guidance of a professional certified technician. They’ll get hands-on experience in a fully-operational #1 Cochran facility as they are taught to use some of the most technologically-advanced equipment in the industry. Not only do students in the program get real-world experience in their chosen field, but they have the opportunity to become contributing members of the #1 Cochran team.
