Quality First Career Center
The Phlebotomy certification program at Quality First Career Center provides students with the necessary knowledge and hands-on training to become proficient in blood collection techniques. The program covers topics such as anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and infection control. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the national certification exam and pursue a career in the healthcare field as a certified phlebotomy technician.
At Quality First Career Center, we offer a 78-hour training program for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to get certified as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA). This course is specifically designed to teach CNAs how to efficiently care for the elderly. Although CNAs can already work in many different care facilities or care settings, becoming a GNA with just this short course allows them to also work in Nursing Homes. It widens the CNA’s employment opportunities, not to mention they will have the capacity to care for their geriatric patients better. Upon successfully completing the program, the student will be eligible to take the GNA Certification test.
Certified nursing assistants provide care and assistance to patients in various facilities. They perform various duties under the supervision of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. Our certified nursing assistant training course will help aspirants acquire the necessary knowledge and skill set to render appropriate care to patients in a safe, effective, and respectful manner. Instructors will tackle all of the necessary topics associated with CNAs in the workplace. This course includes both lecture and practical training in a clinical or laboratory setting under an RN’s or LPN’s supervision.
The First Aid training course provided by Quality First Career Center is open to healthcare professionals needing to meet First Aid certification requirements as well as other individuals interested in knowing how to apply first aid techniques. Through this course, we can assist our students in the identification of different scenarios where first aid may be required. We will also teach them about the appropriate first aid technique to use in a specific scenario.
Quality First Career Center offers our phlebotomy training course to students who will be responsible for drawing blood specimens necessary in various situations. Through our phlebotomy course, students will know the safe and best techniques in drawing blood as well as knowing how to operate different equipment essential in this procedure.
The Certified Medication Technician course we offer is designed to help students prepare for performing relevant duties as CMTs. This course focuses on helping our students acquire the necessary skills to assist registered nurses or licensed practical nurses with medication therapy, specifically in administering non-parenteral medications. The training takes 20 hours to complete. It involves both lecture as well as clinical practice.
The CPR / Basic Life Support certification program at Quality First Career Center is designed to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to support someone who is experiencing cardiac arrest or respiratory failure. Students will learn how to properly administer chest compressions, use automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and provide rescue breaths to maintain oxygen levels until emergency medical services arrive. Upon completion of the program, individuals will receive a certification that is recognized by employers in various industries, including healthcare, education and public safety.
The Certified Nursing Assistant class offered at Quality First Career Center in Washington, DC provides students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills to provide basic patient care in a hospital or long-term care facility setting. Students learn skills such as medical terminology, vital sign measurement, personal hygiene and other caring skills. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the Maryland State Certification Exam for Nursing Assistants.
