The program can also prepare you to become an early childhood teacher or director in the ECE field. Classes emphasize child development skills in the areas of language, social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. We also focus on cultural diversity among children. You will become familiar with theories concerning child development and ECE and will participate in many group discussions and hands-on activities that you can apply in the preschool classroom. The Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiologic Technology prepares you to work as a critical member of today's health care team. We teach you important critical thinking and problem-solving techniques as well as interpersonal and communication skills. This training will allow you to interact effectively with other health care team members, patients and families from a variety of professional, social, emotional, cultural and intellectual backgrounds. We provide you the skills you need to work with highly complex medical imaging equipment, analyze acquired images for quality, assess patient condition and apply appropriate techniques of patient care and education, and achieve the highest degree of clinical competency. Our program focuses on developing your intellectual abilities as well as the judgment you need to demonstrate a professional attitude and demeanor, display the highest moral and ethical standards, and foster the safety of yourself and your patients. PCC’s bachelor’s degree completion program in Radiologic Technology is designed to provide education in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT) as well as leadership and education in medical imaging. Many employers are seeking graduates with a bachelor’s degree and at least one additional imaging modality; this program helps you prepare for these requirements. The program is mostly online with face-to-face clinical education for MRI and CT. Graduates will be prepared to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) post-primary certification in either MRI or CT.

Medical assistants fill a vital role in the success of a medical practice and serve as a liaison between the physician and patients. PCC’s experienced Medical Assistant faculty members will guide you as you learn on state-of-the-art equipment such as an EKG machine, modern examination tables, and training devices and equipment. Medical assistants play a key role in gathering vital information for the provider and working with different insurance companies on a regular basis. PCC’s program prepares you to work in the front and back office of a medical practice. You will perform clinical duties such as drawing blood, giving patient injections, performing various lab tests, taking patient histories and measuring vital signs. You will also gain skills in medical office administration and financial management, medical terminology, and medical billing and coding procedures. You will have one clinical rotation and a test prep course to prepare for the Registered Medical Assistant national examination.

Most faculty members are registered nurses with a wide variety of experience including hospital, long-term, and home health care. Our program is 95 hours in length – much more than the minimum federal requirement of 75 hours. This is so you will be work ready upon graduation. An online hybrid portion for the theory is offered which has theory/lecture online and labs at a PCC campus.

The Practical Nursing program will teach you direct patient care skills that you can apply in numerous healthcare settings. It offers theoretical and applied instruction in classrooms, simulated laboratories, and clinical settings. It integrates education in adult, gerontological, obstetric, pediatric, and psychiatric-mental health nursing. Your clinical learning will take place in diverse institutions. After successfully completing the two semesters of the program, you will be eligible to take the Practical Nursing National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). A successful performance on the NCLEX-PN will awards you state licensure and qualifies you for the title of Licensed Practical Nurse.
