A Career That Matters

You may have thought that having a medical career meant years of education and training. But you may only be a few months away from a rewarding job as Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.

As a medical assistant you will help patients have a more comfortable and enjoyable visit as you perform basic administrative and clinical tasks in a healthcare facility like a physician's office, hospital, or lab.

The CCMA job description depends on individual facility requirements, but in general your role will be more medical than the role of clerical and administrative assistants.

The clinical tasks of a medical assistant may include:

  • Preparing Patients for Examinations
  • Taking Patient Histories and Vital Signs
  • Assisting the Physician During Examinations
  • Explaining Procedures to Patients
  • Calling in Prescriptions to Pharmacies
  • Collect Laboratory Specimens
  • Sterilize Medical Instruments

This course is a medical assisting program designed to prepare students in patient healthcare including phlebotomy, EKG, patient care, and medical assisting. It will provide students with training in classroom, lab, and clinical atmospheres.

After completing this course students will be prepared and eligible for the National Exams including: Phlebotomy, EKG, Patient Care Technician, and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
