In this course NA’s striving to work in an advanced care setting will learn the technical skills needed to provide exceptional care, compassion, proper communication, and critical thinking skills to function safely and effectively in a healthcare environment. Topics covered include wound care, sterile technique, IV care, pre-op/intra-op/post-op phases, catheter care, ostomy care, nutrition, and respiratory care. Students will receive a certificate of completion for advanced training in the nursing assistant field of study. This advanced knowledge will help students become stronger candidates for employment in acute care facilities such as hospitals and clinics. This is a 5-day course (18 hours).
