This hybrid course provides students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for successful entry into the front office position in a medical clinic, health care agency, or physician's office as a medical assistant. Administrative duties include welcoming patients, maintaining medical records, scheduling appointments, and bookkeeping. Students may qualify to sit for the California Certified Medical Assistant exam.
Oxnard Adult School is situated in Oxnard, California, and provides a variety of educational programs for adults. Most notably, the school offers its students the opportunity to gain a Certified Nursing Assistant certification, which is overseen by Sylvia Trueba, the director of the school.
