Northwestern Technological Institute
This course focuses on the hands-on approach to learning the installation of mechanical equipment, sheet metal, gas piping, mechanical code, and electrical procedures on residential equipment. Topics covered include installation clearances, venting requirements, gas pipe cutting and threading, sheet metal design/installation, refrigeration piping, high/low voltage wiring, electronic air cleaner and humidifier installation, and start-up procedures.
There are several courses covered during HVAC training. It is important for the student to complete all of the courses, as they form a foundation for the tasks that the individual will be conducting once they become a HVAC technician.
