These classes prepare students for taking the Class A commercial driver's license pre-trip and road skills examinations. Training consists of classroom, shop, driving range and on highway instruction. Students follow a training curriculum which is based upon the U.S. Department of Transportation Model Curriculum for Commercial Driver Training. These classes familiarize students with commercial vehicle operating systems, rules of the road, safe loading and operating procedures. Upon completion of the training, students are tested by both the training center staff and by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Class duration is 5 weeks.
